This game constantly keeps you on your toes due to how many enemies you have to fight and how intense each level is. If you are someone who does not like difficult games and you want a more “casual” 2d platformer, I suggest you stay away from Cyber Shadow. The difficulty is probably my biggest complaint about the game. If you grew up in the 80s and 90s with the NES and SNES, you probably know that those consoles had some unbelievably hard video games, and Cyber Shadow emulates that difficulty to a certain extent here on the Switch in 2021. In fact, it is probably one of the hardest games I have played in quite some time. While Cyber Shadow seems like an easy game on the surface, this game is far from that in reality. Well, that is where you are completely wrong. Here in Cyber Shadow, you will leap, dash, and slice your way through whatever foe stands in your way. In regards to Cyber Shadow’s gameplay, the gameplay itself is very simple in terms of what you actually do. I can tell that they put a lot of time and effort into this game’s story, and it really shows when you actually sit down and play the game. It was something that I wasn’t really expecting when I bought this game, but after playing through the game, the animated cutscenes that they added here in Cyber-Shadow were very well done and added a lot more depth to the story. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat, and I thought the cutscenes in between certain missions was a nice touch. I’ve got to admit, I love the way that they tell the story here in Cyber-Shadow. Who can Shadow trust? How far will Shadow go? All those answers can be found within Cyber-Shadow as you progress throughout the game, taking out your enemies, traversing through different levels, and getting power ups from your fallen clan members. In order to save your clan and the master, Shadow must set out on a journey that could lead to his potential ruin. Your clan is disappearing quickly, the master is nowhere to be found, and synthetic life forms are terrorizing everything that they can find. Here in Cyber Shadow, you are a ninja named Shadow, and evil has suddenly taken hold of everything. However, near the end of 2020, Nintendo had yet another indie showcase, and during that showcase, Cyber-Shadow was shown, and it definitely caught my eye due to its retro graphical style and 2D platforming that was shown off in the trailer. In the year 2020, there may not have been any sort of general direct, but Nintendo did have quite a few Indie World showcases throughout the year.
